What Kind of Cotton can be sustainable?
- Organic
cotton
Is grown without synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides. Instead, organic farmers use natural methods such as crop rotation, composting, and biological pest control. Organic cotton is also often grown using rainwater instead of irrigation, reducing its water footprint. - Fairtrade
cotton
It ensures that farmers receive fair prices for their crops and have safe working conditions. Fairtrade cotton also promotes sustainable farming practices, such as using natural pest control methods and reducing water usage. - Recycled
cotton
Is another sustainable option. This involves taking pre-consumer or post-consumer cotton waste and turning it into new fabric. This process reduces the amount of textile waste sent to landfills and reduces the need for new cotton production.
When shopping for cotton products, it is important to look for certifications such as the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) or the Fairtrade certification. These certifications ensure that the cotton has been produced using sustainable practices and that workers are treated fairly.
In Liuba’s company we ensure that all cotton used is either organic or certified. We believe in responsible and sustainable sourcing practices, and this includes ensuring that the cotton we use is grown using environmentally friendly methods and without the use of harmful chemicals. By using only organic or certified cotton, we can ensure that our products are not only high-quality but also eco-friendly.
